Chapter 47

“You have the nerve to mention it? You— You— Look what you did to me!?”

My first and second time… stolen in a single night! And what’s more, in such a humiliating state of being tied up! I spoke indignantly, raising the pillow high and unleashing my “Serious Series: Consecutive Normal Whacks.” The pillow struck Qifeng’s body again and again, hitting her so much she was defenseless and couldn’t even get up.

“Uu… If you keep hitting me, you’ll kill me! Spare me—! I… I’m still injured!” she cried, groveling on the bed and begging me for mercy.

“You know you’re injured? Weren’t you full of life when you were pinning me down? You… you forcible-kissing fiend!”

I gripped the pillow, panting with agitation. A goose feather from the pillow’s stuffing flew to my lips, and I spat it away.

Qifeng was flattened on the bed by my whacks like a pile of mud. She let out a “hehe” laugh and struggled to prop herself up. She looked just like someone crawling forward through a hail of bullets; you could smear some ketchup on her and it wouldn’t look out of place at all.

“I did it… I really kissed Fei’er. Even if I die now, I have no regrets.”

I shivered. What kind of nonsense is that? She’s hopeless.

Lian Qi was staring at us, dumbfounded. “You… have such a violent side? Even with your hands tied…”

I glared at her angrily and threw the pillow, hitting her in the face.

“Hey, why are you hitting me too?” she said, annoyed and angry.

“Who told you not to help me?” I glared at her petulantly, tears welling in my eyes. No, wait! She had a part in forcibly kissing me too!

Seriously… Do these two have no reverence for the Saintess at all? Forcibly kissing to replenish magic… it’s too shameful!

I never thought my first time being tied up would lead to something like this. I’ll probably never forget this experience for as long as I live…

The shameless and wild days of the three of us always pass quickly. Two days later, the day of the decisive battle against the assassination organization “Seven-Leaf Tree” arrived. Having returned to my identity as the Saintess, I wore a pure white nun’s habit and descended the twelve steps of the Holy Light Cathedral.

Lian Qi, Qifeng, Sister Aijieliya, Sister Liwei, and Sister Mouyue accompanied me from behind.

All in all, my entire “sister-group” had been mobilized.

According to the plan, I was being used as bait x( but I wasn’t afraid at all, because they were by my side, like guardian deities driving away all fear.

I looked down the steps at the knights and monks waiting on both sides of the road. As I approached, they all knelt on one knee or bowed. The knights’ armor dazzled brightly in the brilliant sunlight. They had sworn an oath before the Holy Light that they would absolutely protect me with their lives if I encountered danger.

I stood still at the foot of the cathedral, with all my protectors as a backdrop, and gazed out at the unseen enemy.

Mere “Seven-Leaf Tree,” I am ready for you.

This time, I will make sure none of you leave alive!

I boarded the sightseeing carriage, which was decorated with Holy Light Church elements. As planned, my sisters had all hidden themselves.

“In the end, I’m the only one riding in the carriage with you? This feeling of being in a parade…” Lian Qi glanced at the cheering, flower-throwing crowd outside the carriage and swallowed, unused to it.

“It’s a bit hard to get used to. Also, why are these commoners throwing flower petals?”

Lian Qi was right. All along the way, the onlookers were throwing petals at us. Maybe it’s because the cherry blossom season has arrived? This way of welcoming someone… feels a bit strange.

“I don’t know either,” I said with a weak laugh, while waving to the crowd outside the window.

“You seem to have gotten used to this kind of situation,” Lian Qi said, glancing at me.

“That’s because I’m not appearing in a maid outfit today.”

“You don’t feel ashamed, right?”

I stuck my tongue out, embarrassed. Lian Qi continued, “Speaking of which, will ‘Seven-Leaf Tree’ really come?”

“Sister Phylicia said that given ‘Death’s-Blade’s’ personality, they’ll definitely come. I’ve been ‘missing’ for a long time since I became your maid. This is a rare public appearance for me. Even if they have to take a huge risk, they won’t miss this chance to assassinate me.”

“So, General Phylicia went to protect Tristina personally, to prevent ‘Seven-Leaf Tree’ from creating a diversion and attacking the palace.”

“Mhm. Sister Phylicia is very meticulous.”

“If she and the Queen were also here, your sister-group would be complete.”

“According to the schedule, we’ll be able to see them later. As the Queen of Holy Flame, Tristina will also be participating in the Holy Light Festival.” I smiled. Actually, we’re still missing a certain red dragon. If we could contact her, she’d be happy to help too.

“By the way, Qifeng clearly hasn’t recovered, but she came along anyway,” Lian Qi said.

“I originally wanted her to rest at home, but she shamelessly insisted on coming. I couldn’t win against her.” I gave a helpless smile. Just then, Lian Qi suddenly tensed, looking out the window alertly.

“Eh? Could it be—”

“I see that person… the one who assassinated Lord Man.”1 As soon as she finished speaking, she hooked her arms under my legs and picked me up. With a CRACK—! The carriage roof caved in! At the last possible second, Lian Qi carried me and dashed out of the carriage! I looked back, and the carriage had been completely flattened by a giant, armored fist that fell from the sky. That was close!

The moment Lian Qi landed with me in her arms, I saw that among the terrified and panicked crowd, only one person—a yellow-haired girl with a ponytail—was smirking triumphantly.

She held her posture from casting the magic, one arm raised high, staring at me and Lian Qi. A few seconds later, the onlookers began to scatter in all directions, and the scene descended into chaos. But a few people didn’t move an inch. I looked over—all the members of the assassination organization “Seven-Leaf Tree” had surrounded me.

“Saintess Kefei’er. To overthrow this corrupt kingdom, please die—”

The yellow-haired girl had barely finished speaking, the smile still on her lips, when a sudden gust of wind slammed into her and sent her flying! I looked closely—it was Sister Aijieliya!?

Wielding her sheathed black blade, “Demon-Slayer,”2 she pinned the yellow-haired girl to the wall. The wall instantly collapsed inward, forming a large crater! The yellow-haired girl spat out a large mouthful of blood and her eyes were already rolling back.

“One.”

Sister Aijieliya said coldly. Ignoring the girl pinned to the wall, she turned to confront the other “Seven-Leaf Tree” members.

“You’re the ones who want to kill my little sister, aren’t you?”

As soon as she spoke, silver magic power erupted from my sister’s entire body, at full strength! The rising airflow swept through the entire street. Several of the assassins had to erupt with their own magic power just to barely stand firm in front of her.

Someone sucked in a cold breath— “It’s… the Headmaster of the Magic Academy, Aijieliya!?”

At the same time, a white door appeared out of thin air and swung open. It was Nuonuo’s magic, “Sanctuary Far From the Demon King.” Sister Liwei led her entire adventurer’s guild, pouring out of the door and surging forward with swords drawn.

“By order of the Saintess! Kill them all!”

Eh??? I never said that!

  1. 暗杀曼大人 (Ànshā Màn Dàrén) - “Assassinated Lord Man.” This seems to be a name or title.

  2. 魔灭斩 (Mó Miè Zhǎn) - Literally “Demon Extermination Sever.” “Demon-Slayer” is a common and fitting localization.
