Chapter 34

“Heh, so it’s the transfer student.”

The guy straightened up, still squinting his eyes as he stared at Lian Qi.

“Don’t you know who I am either?”

“Aren’t you just that famous rich second-generation kid in the school?” Qifeng scooped up a spoonful of soufflé and said dismissively, without even looking at him.

I saw one of the girls from the next table run over and pick up the chair Lian Qi had kicked away for him.

“Brother Ivan, your chair.”

Looks like she’s completely at his beck and call?

The boy named Ivan took the chair, his slit-like eyes staring at Lian Qi.

“There isn’t a woman in the Advanced Magic Department I can’t hit on—”

He snatched up the chair and swung it at Lian Qi!

I got nervous for Lian Qi for a second, but in the blink of an eye, the chair smashed against her arm. She didn’t move an inch, blocking it with just one hand.

Lian Qi stared at him coldly through the chair. The guy was surprised by the red magic power covering Lian Qi’s body and was slightly stunned.

“Tier 3 Crystal Red—?”

The moment he finished speaking, Lian Qi forcibly ripped the chair from his hands and, giving him a taste of his own medicine, slammed it back into his face!

Screams erupted from the girls at the next table. They probably didn’t expect their “Brother Ivan” to get slapped in the face in return, did they? That boy wasn’t as strong as Lian Qi; he stumbled back a few steps and almost fell to the ground.

“Go back to your little circle, and stay away from the people around me,” Lian Qi warned him curtly.

The boy clutched the bruise on his face. He had also used “Magic Encirclement” to defend himself just now, but unfortunately, even though the magic power covering his body was also red, it wasn’t enough to beat Lian Qi.

“You dare hit me in school? My father is Reyes of the Magic Academy’s Board of Directors!”

So arrogant. I’ll have Qifeng look into him later, I thought.

Lian Qi snorted disdainfully. “What, do you people from the student council just call your daddy when you can’t win a fight?”

“Brother Ivan, should we call school security?” one of the girls from the next table walked over and asked.

Ivan cursed in frustration— “Get lost!”

“He’s even yelling at his own people. He probably lost all his dignity after getting slapped in the face in front of so many girls, right?” Qifeng said, still holding the spoon in her mouth.

I think Qifeng hit the nail right on the head.

“Let’s duel! We don’t have to wait for the ranking tournament!” Ivan squared off against Lian Qi, and a silver spear suddenly materialized in his hand.

“Stop—!”

A voice interrupted the fight that was about to break out. I followed the sound and saw a stooped, elderly man with a slight limp walking over, panting.

“That’s the Magic Academy’s administrator, Feranchi,” Qifeng whispered to me. “A survivor from when the Magic Academy Tower collapsed. He survived an encounter with the Demon King. Impressive, right?”

“Huh!?”

To survive an encounter with ‘That Person’ is considered heroic? I don’t know what to say.

“Who allowed you to fight in the cafeteria?”

“Feranchi, you’re just in time!” Ivan pointed at Lian Qi and said— “This brat started it! Aren’t you going to put him in solitary confinement?”

“You’re clearly the one who started it,” Lian Qi said coldly.

Feranchi looked at Lian Qi, then at him, and a look of utter difficulty instantly appeared on his face.

“Young Master, he’s a transfer student personally appointed by the Headmaster. You’re making things very difficult for me. Why don’t you go talk to the Headmaster?”

“Tsk! You useless old fool!”

The backup he was expecting couldn’t support him, which must have been very embarrassing. Ivan’s face was a mixture of red and green, looking extremely unpleasant.

“I’ll go find my father directly!” He turned and left, slamming his hand on the next table as if to vent his anger, and shouted at the girls: “We’re not eating! Follow me, we’ll eat outside!”

Lian Qi, Qifeng, and I watched him leave, filled with resentment. Administrator Feranchi glanced at Lian Qi and said, as a formality— “Don’t cause any trouble for the Headmaster!” Then he, too, limped away.

“Sigh, can’t even eat a meal in peace.”

Lian Qi plopped back down on the chair and looked at Qifeng and me— “Why are you both staring at me?”

“It’s nothing…” I smiled. Actually, I was just thinking how reliable she is, standing up for us every time.

“How did you know he’s from the student council?” I asked Lian Qi.

“Didn’t that woman next to him call him Brother Ivan? That girl who was being bullied last time mentioned the name Ivan. He’s one of the student council members, nicknamed the ‘Silver Spear Overlord’ or something.”

“Even before I graduated, I heard he was the most despicable character among the junior students. Probably relies on being a rich second-generation kid, he runs wild outside of school too,” Qifeng said, her face showing a deep disdain for that kind of person.

I smiled. “Speaking of rich second-generation… Lian Qi just fixed an official’s second-generation kid yesterday, also a member of the student council. His father is the ‘Steel’ Oka, captain of the Royal Capital’s guard.”

Hearing me say this, Qifeng couldn’t help but press her fist to her lips and chuckle.

“I’ve figured it out. The Headmaster sent you to this school specifically to slap the student council’s face. Rich second-generation, official’s second-generation… how can any of them compare to you, a transmigrator from another dimension? They don’t know your identity and strut around in front of you. I just watch it all like a joke.”

“The Headmaster is so devious… By the way, how did you get me on the disciplinary committee last time?” Lian Qi asked me.

“I used the ‘Sound Transmission Conch’ that my sister gave me for my birthday. I told her that you wanting to be on the disciplinary committee was part of the plan to defeat the Demon King,” I replied with a smile.

“Part of the plan to defeat the Demon King…?” Lian Qi frowned at me. “That sounds like…”

“It is. Back when Queen Tristina was crying to me about how your demand was actually a villa, I used ‘this is part of your plan to defeat the Demon King’ to comfort her too.”
